LED Car Bulbs
The car bulbs and lighting technology is advancing day by day and new stylish, safer and more energy efficient car bulbs are being manufactured. One of them is LED it stands for Light Emitting Diode. LED’s are small bulbs giving white light and consumes very little amount of charge when used in bundles it can achieve very bright light and can be used for car headlights. They are energy efficient more than any other lights available in market today; they live longer and can be easily installed in your car with no modification.
LED bulbs are usually not as bright as standard headlight bulbs, they have many advantages over ordinary filament bulbs, such as longer life, quicker on and off times, lower power consumption more clear colors but are not as bright as stock headlights. This problem can be solved if a large numbers of LEDs, are used they will appear brighter than filament bulbs. The state of the art 3 Watt and 5 Watt LED car bulbs are brighter than most standard filament car bulbs. If the distribution of light is focused it will appear brighter if not then it would not be as bright, generally it depends on the size and shape of the bulb housing and reflector.
The difference between LED bulbs and ordinary headlights is LED emit light like a flashlight, all out the end. Regular filament bulbs emit light from the end and all sides, the reason makes it better suited for some lighting applications than LED bulbs. This is why we do not rate LED car bulbs in lumens or watts, the numbers would be deceivingly low because the light is measured from all sides and the end on standard filament bulbs but only from the end on LED bulbs.
Some bulbs are with Narrow or Wide viewing angle. The Wide angle gives approx. 100 degree beam and will light up more area but dimmer than the Narrow angle. The Narrow angle gives approx. 15 degree and will illuminate a smaller area but brighter than the Wide angle. It all depends on your choice and requirement as some LEDs aiming out the end of the bulb and some radially mounted LEDs aiming out the sides of the bulb. These will provide a more complete and even light pattern on the vehicle lens.
It cannot be recommended which type would work best in your vehicle because it depends on the size, shape and depth of your bulb housings. The Wide angle bulbs usually work best for most vehicles. It is recommended not to use LED bulbs in the same housing with head lamps, the heat will cause them to fail quickly because of the heat of the headlamps. LED Car Bulbs About the Author:
